Product description

These hand carved whale fluke earrings are made from fossil mammoth ivory, which is dated at least 10,000 years old. The fossil ivory has wonderful texture and color mimicking the whale's natural fluke veins. These veins are so unique that they're used to identify individual whales in nature! The hooks make them convenient for daily wear. They can be dressed up or down while being a conversation starter. Each of Edward Lawrence's pieces are one of a kind.

  • Type: Dangling Hook Earring
  • Dimensions (L x W): 1.50" x 1"
  • Stone: Fossil Mammoth Tusk (St Lawrence Island, Alaska)
  • Metal: 925 Sterling Silver
  • Artist: Edward Lawrence

“I get my ideas from the materials. Form follows function has always been a part of my technique. The whole concept is to transform the materials into something you can relate to and wear. They become a part of your life. The designs can be ethnic to modern, funky to architectural. The pieces design themselves.”
