Product description

This fossilized mammoth molar has been buried for 10,000 to 100,000 years old. Mammoths only had four large molars for grinding vegetation, but through their lifetime they would go through six sets of teeth. As new molars replaced old ones, they had additional plates making the tooth larger and larger. The blue remnants are caused by cobalt minerals and reds are from iron. The plates can be seen running vertically on the sculpture. Eddie has restored this tooth so it will last another 100,000 years for all to enjoy.

Sculptures are hand carved by Eddie Lee in his Pacific Northwest studio. Every carving is one of a kind, individually carved. The sculpture you see pictured is the exact one you will receive. Every fine art piece is hand signed by the artist and includes a certificate of authenticity, which describes the art piece and has a short biography of master sculptor, Eddie Lee.

This molar is awesome! I love the black coloring and just imagining the mammoth that walked around with this tooth in it's mouth is so much fun. I have several pieces from Eddie and this is one of my favorites. Thanks so much!
