Product description

This fossilized mammoth molar has been buried for 10,000 to 100,000 years old. Mammoths only had four large molars for grinding vegetation, but through their lifetime they would go through six sets of teeth. As a new molar replaces an existing one, it would have additional plates making the tooth larger. The blue remnants are caused by cobalt minerals and reds are from iron. The plates can be seen running vertically on the sculpture with the roots pointing up. Eddie has restored these so they will last another 100,000 years for all to enjoy.

Sculptures are hand carved by Eddie Lee in his Pacific Northwest studio. Every carving is one of a kind, individually carved. The sculpture you see pictured is the exact one you will receive. Every fine art piece is hand signed by the artist and includes a certificate of authenticity, which describes the art piece and has a short biography of master sculptor, Eddie Lee.

This piece was amazing! The color, the way it is displayed, and all the roots remaining in the tooth are all super cool. I have it proudly displayed in my living room. Keep up the good work! :-)
